Result Declaration, Rank List Download & Score Card Details
CUSAT declares the CAT result and the corresponding merit Rank List for the B.Tech stream around early June, shortly after the final answer key is published. The rank list is prepared strictly based on the final CAT score (out of 900 for Test Code 101), subject to candidates meeting the minimum qualifying marks in Mathematics and the combined Physics-Chemistry score.

View your subject-wise marks, total score out of 900, and your CAT rank for the B.Tech stream.
Save a PDF copy of your official rank card — this is required at multiple stages of the subsequent option registration and counselling process.
Candidates who do not meet the minimum qualifying marks in Mathematics or the combined Physics-Chemistry threshold are marked as "Not Qualified" and are excluded from the rank list and subsequent option registration for engineering seats, even if they appeared for the full exam. Such candidates should rely on KEAM or other applicable exams for their engineering admission that year.
Alongside the main All India Merit rank list, CUSAT also publishes separate category-wise rank lists for Kerala SC, Kerala ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD candidates, computed using the same CAT score but ranked within each reservation category to facilitate category-based seat allotment as per the applicable reservation policy for CUSAT's own campuses and affiliated colleges.
If a candidate notices a discrepancy between their expected score (calculated using the final answer key) and the score reflected in the official result, they can raise a formal rank verification request with supporting evidence through the grievance redressal mechanism on the admissions portal. Such requests are typically processed before the option registration window opens, to avoid disrupting the counselling timeline.
It is worth emphasizing that a candidate's CUSAT CAT rank is entirely independent of their KEAM rank, even though both exams test an overlapping Plus Two PCM syllabus. A student might rank very differently in the two exams due to differing applicant pools, question patterns, and marking schemes — so a strong KEAM rank does not automatically translate into an equally strong CUSAT CAT rank, and vice versa.
Candidates targeting the B.Tech Marine Engineering programme at Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering should note that their final eligibility and rank depend on a combined evaluation of their CUSAT CAT score and their separate IMU-CET result, with the final joint merit list published only after both results are available and cross-verified by the respective authorities.
Along with individual score cards, CUSAT often releases aggregate result statistics such as the total number of candidates who appeared, the number who qualified the minimum marks criteria, and the highest score achieved in that year's cycle, giving aspirants useful context on how their own score compares to the overall applicant pool.
