Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka UGET • Conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka
A Single-Session, No-Negative-Marking CBT Covering Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
COMEDK UGET is conducted as a fully online Computer-Based Test (CBT) in a single continuous 3-hour session. Unlike JEE Main, which spans multiple shifts and days requiring statistical normalization, COMEDK is usually held on a single day (occasionally in two shifts when candidate volume is very high), which keeps the raw-score-to-rank conversion mathematically simple and transparent.

Every question in COMEDK UGET is a standard single-correct-answer multiple-choice question with four options, presented on-screen with a palette-based navigation panel similar to most CBT exams. There are no numerical-value (integer-type) questions, no partial-marking schemes, and no multi-correct-option questions — the format is deliberately simple compared to JEE Main or WBJEE, which reduces ambiguity during preparation.
Because there is no penalty for an incorrect answer, COMEDK rewards attempting every single question. Leaving a question blank can never help a candidate's score, so the rational approach is to attempt all 180 questions, using educated elimination-based guessing on questions where the exact solution isn't immediately clear. This is a meaningfully different strategy from JEE Main or WBJEE, where reckless guessing can actively hurt the score.
COMEDK UGET is conducted across CBT centers in major cities throughout India — not just in Karnataka — reflecting its pan-India candidate base. Candidates select their preferred exam city during registration, and COMEDK allots a specific center and time slot along with the admit card. Because of the single-session format, there's generally only one shift per day at most centers, minimizing the shift-to-shift difficulty variance that multi-shift national exams sometimes face.
The COMEDK UGET question paper is set exclusively in English. Unlike several state CETs that offer regional-language versions, COMEDK does not provide a bilingual or vernacular paper, which candidates from non-English-medium backgrounds should factor into their preparation.

No. COMEDK UGET awards 1 mark for every correct answer and deducts nothing for an incorrect or unattempted answer, so students should attempt every question.
COMEDK UGET asks exactly 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, for a total of 180 questions and 180 marks.
No calculators, log tables, or any electronic computing aid are permitted. Candidates must perform all calculations manually.
The question paper is set only in English; no regional-language or bilingual version is offered.
