Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination • Conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)
Online Registration, Slot Booking, Documents Needed & Fee Structure
The VITEEE application process is completed entirely online through viteee.vit.ac.in, and unlike most entrance exams, it opens unusually early — around October or November of the preceding year — giving candidates a long runway to register comfortably before the deadline in late March or April.
• Step 1: Visit viteee.vit.ac.in and register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
• Step 2: Verify your account through the OTP sent to your email and mobile number.
• Step 3: Fill in personal, academic, and contact details, including your Class 10 and Class 12 (or appearing) information.
• Step 4: Select your preferred subject combination (Mathematics or Biology) based on your target program.
• Step 5: Choose your preferred exam city/cities from the list of available centers.
• Step 6: Upload your photograph and signature in the specified format.
• Step 7: Pay the application fee online through net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.
• Step 8: Download the confirmation page and retain the application number for future reference.
Completing the application form is only the first half of the process. After the application window closes, candidates must separately log in to the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) to select their preferred exam date and shift from the remaining available slots. Because this is first-come-first-served, candidates are advised to complete slot booking as soon as it opens rather than waiting until the last day.
• Recent passport-size photograph in the specified format and size
• Scanned signature
• Class 10 certificate for date-of-birth verification
• Class 12 marksheet or admit card details for appearing candidates
• Valid, actively-used email ID and mobile number
| Candidate Category | Application Fee |
|---|---|
| Indian Nationals | ₹1,350 approximately |
| NRI / International Candidates | Approx. USD 90, payable via international card/gateway |
VIT typically allows limited editing of certain fields (such as exam city preference or contact details) before the slot booking window opens, but core identity details generally cannot be changed once submitted. Candidates should review every field carefully before final submission, since the correction scope after payment is limited.
During registration, candidates typically list multiple preferred exam cities in order of preference. Since VIT operates centers across 100+ cities in India and a handful of international locations, candidates from smaller towns should list a nearby larger city as a backup option in case their first-preference city has limited seat capacity by the time they book their slot.
International and NRI candidates follow a largely similar application process but pay fees in USD through an international payment gateway and may have access to a slightly different set of exam centers, including select overseas testing locations, depending on the specific year's arrangements.
Once the application fee is paid successfully, candidates receive a confirmation along with their unique application number via email and SMS. This number becomes essential for every subsequent step, including slot booking, admit card download, result checking, and counselling registration, so it should be saved securely alongside the application receipt.
Registration typically opens around late October or November of the preceding year and remains open for about five months until late March or early April.
Yes, OTBS (Online Test Booking System) is a separate step after the main application closes, where candidates select their specific exam date and shift from available slots.

Limited editing of certain fields is typically allowed before slot booking opens; core identity details generally cannot be changed after final submission.
