Joint Admission Counselling Delhi • Conducted by Joint Admission Counselling Committee Delhi (DTU, NSUT, IIIT-D, IGDTUW, DSEU)
Registration, Four Regular Rounds, Upgradation Round, Mop-Up Round, and Spot Round
JAC Delhi's counselling calendar begins once JEE Main results are available, and is notably compressed and multi-staged — running through seven distinct stages from registration to the final spot round, all within roughly ten weeks.
Registration & Choice Filling
Late May – Early June
Single registration window, locked once
Round 1 Allotment
Mid-June
First seat offers based on CRL
Rounds 2-4
Late June – Mid-July
Successive allotment rounds
Upgradation, Round 5 (Mop-Up) & Spot Round
Late July – Early August
Final opportunities for vacant seats
Candidates register on jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in using their JEE Main application number and roll number, paying a non-refundable registration fee (commonly around ₹1,500 plus transaction charges). Critically, registration is permitted only once during the entire admission cycle — candidates cannot re-register if they make an error, making careful, accurate initial registration essential.
Round 1 allotment is typically declared within about a week of choice-filling closing. Candidates allotted a seat must complete physical reporting at the allotted institute within a specified window (commonly about 7-9 days), along with document verification and seat acceptance fee payment.
Three further regular rounds follow in succession through late June to mid-July, each allowing candidates to improve their allotment or newly enter the process if seats remain available in their category/quota.
After the four regular rounds, an Upgradation Round lets already-admitted candidates seek a better option without risking their current seat, followed by Round 5 (a mop-up round) for any remaining vacancies, and finally an online Spot Round in early August as the last opportunity before the academic session begins.
| Stage | Typical Window |
|---|---|
| Registration & Choice Filling | Late May - Early June |
| Round 1 Allotment | Mid-June |
| Round 1 Reporting | Mid-Late June |
| Rounds 2-4 | Late June - Mid-July |
| Upgradation Round | Mid-Late July |
| Round 5 (Mop-Up) | Late July |
| Spot Round | Early August |
Because this seven-stage process must conclude before the academic session begins in early-to-mid August, and cannot start until JEE Main results are available, JAC Delhi's window is notably compressed — candidates should treat every single deadline as firm rather than assuming buffer time exists.
