Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test • Conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Kakinada on behalf of APSCHE
Understanding the Notification-to-Counselling Cycle Managed by APSCHE and JNTUK
AP EAPCET follows a fairly predictable annual cycle, with the official notification and application process typically opening in February or early March, the exam conducted over multiple days in mid-May, and results following within two to three weeks.
| Event | Typical Window / Historical Pattern |
|---|---|
| Notification Release | Early February |
| Online Application Window | February to early March (no late fee) |
| Application With Late Fee | Extended window into March/April with escalating late fees |
| Admit Card Download | First week of May |
| AP EAPCET Exam (Engineering Stream) | Mid-May, spread across multiple days/shifts |
| Preliminary Answer Key Release | Within a few days of the exam |
| Results & Rank Announcement | First week of June |
| Web-Based Counselling Registration | Mid-to-late June |
| Seat Allotment & College Reporting | July |
Given the very large number of candidates appearing for AP EAPCET across Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy streams combined, JNTUK conducts the exam across five to six days with multiple shifts each day to manage CBT center capacity throughout Andhra Pradesh. This requires a normalization process to ensure fairness across candidates who attempted different shifts with different question sets.
APSCHE typically allows a window of two to three additional weeks beyond the regular deadline for candidates to apply with an escalating late fee, structured in tiers (a smaller late fee shortly after the deadline, increasing progressively as the final cutoff date approaches). This gives candidates who missed the initial deadline a fallback option, albeit at a higher cost.
The typically short two-to-three week gap between the exam and result declaration is used by JNTUK to process the preliminary answer key, review candidate objections, finalize the key, apply the composite score formula (which factors in both EAPCET marks and Intermediate marks), and generate the final merit list.
Once results are declared, AP EAPCET counselling itself typically unfolds over several weeks in July, structured around web-based options entry, certificate verification at designated help-line centers, and phase-wise seat allotment — a process that, including reporting deadlines, can extend into early August in some years.
The notification and online application window typically opens in early February, with a regular deadline in early March, followed by a late-fee window extending into March/April.
Due to the very high number of candidates across Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy streams, the exam is spread across multiple days and shifts, with score normalization applied to ensure fairness.
Results are typically declared within two to three weeks of the exam, generally in the first week of June.
